Deliveries to Royal Caribbean modernisation program

Royal Caribbean's cruise vessels INDEPENDENCE OF THE SEAS and MARINER OF THE SEAS underwent an extensive refurbishment, during which both vessels received all-new features. Main components such as the Sky Pad, FlowRider or deck elements were carried by BBC Chartering from Turku, Finland to shipyards in the Bahamas and Spain, which carried out the installation. BBC QUEBEC delivered parts for the INDEPENDENCE OF THE SEAS, whereas BBC ROSARIO carried units for the MARINER OF THE SEAS.

The modernisation of the cruise ships included:

• A new bungee trampoline experience - Sky Pad, a brand-new bungee trampoline experience will launch guests sky high for gravity-defying fun with a virtual reality headset option.

• FlowRider surf simulator

• Perfect Storm waterslides

• Jamie's Italian specialty restaurant

• Polynesian-themed "The Bamboo Room" bar, with "tiki-chic" decor.

• Izumi Hibachi & Sushi specialty restaurant

• Battle for Planet Z laser tag

• Escape room

• Playmakers Sports Bar & Arcade

• Starbucks at Sea
