Crown Mounted Compensator delivered to Las Palmas

After a 52-day voyage from Ulsan, Korea to Las Palmas, Spain, the M/V BBC Michigan discharged a Crown Mounted Compensator in a tandem lift with her 300 mt combined capacity cranes. This piece measures 11 meters tall and weighs 206 mt, requiring special lifting and stowage. We are happy to have successfully moved this impressive cargo.

The M/V BBC Michigan is one of our thirty-eight vessels with a 12,780 mt dwat. The M/V BBC Michigan and her sister vessels have a max draft capability of up to 8 meters which allows them to sail anywhere in the world and be able to lift up to 300 mt of general/project cargo, including renewable energy equipment. Having three holds on these vessels and being fitted for the Great Lakes creates the capability of carrying any type of breakbulk or dry bulk cargo. Additionally, these vessels are fitted to carry dangerous goods of all IMO classes. All of their capabilities make these multipurpose project vessels indispensable to our fleet.
