BBC Chartering helps `Greater Western Flank`project

September 2014 - The Greater Western Flank Gas Development is located on Australia’s North West Shelf approximately 140 km from Karratha, Western Australia. It will feed the Karratha Gas Plant (KGP) to process raw dehydrated gas and export LNG, condensate and LPG together with conditioned gas.

Woodside Energy Ltd is the operator of the field and installed a 14.4 km, 16 inch subsea pipeline employing Technip’s pipeline installation vessel G1201. A platform supply vessel (PSV) fed the pipes to the installation vessel.

During installation works, offshore storage needed to be provided and the M/V BBC Balboa was amongst the employed vessels assigned to this logistics spread. BBC Chartering operates six vessels of this type which are all OVID registered, too. The selected 8,000dwt vessel proved to be the right choice also offering sufficient lifting capacity ensuring safe loading operations for pipe transfers onto the PSV.
