Offshore clients rely on BBC Chartering´s OVID fleet

September 2014 – BBC Chartering vessels are frequent visitors to Norway. This time it was the BBC Sapphire that provided a remarkable sight as she loaded numerous CMCs and Hydrarackers on board. Once delivered to Busan, the loaded components become part of drilling ships, rigs, semi-subs or jack-ups that aim to unlock offshore oil and gas reserves in safe and efficient ways.

The 14,800 dwt vessel BBC Sapphire was employed to handle the job providing much flexibility with its lifting capacity of 2x 400mt. BBC Chartering currently operates nine vessels of this type. Also recognizing the needs, processes and procedures of the offshore industry, the vessel is amongst the 108 OVID registered vessels of BBC Chartering. OVID is an inspection database which has been developed by OCIMF (Oil Companies International Forum) following the format of its Ship Inspection Report Program (SIRE).
