Heavy CO2 absorber discharged for Darwin LNG
BBC Everest delivers remarkable 530mt piece for ConocoPhillips Australia
June 2014 – Darwin LNG is a liquefied natural gas plant in the Northern Territory which went into operation in 2006. The facility is known to employ state-of-the-art engineering and environmental technology and, wherever possible, local and regional resources.
The plant uses ConocoPhillips’ Optimised Cascade Process® an LNG liquefaction technology that employs a two-trains-in-one-design for increased reliability. The discharged CO2 absorber is a replacement unit which is scheduled for exchange this September. By an impeccable dual lift operation the 38 m long and 530 mt piece was successfully loaded onto a heavy duty trailer in Darwin.
The BBC Everest is a 9,300 dwt heavy lift vessels capable of lifting up to 700mt. BBC Chartering operates eight vessels of this type.
