BBC vessels support Australian LNG projects

BBC Kibo and BBC Europe involved in Wheatstone LNG developments

March 2014 – Wheatstone LNG is a liquefied natural gas plant under construction in the Ashburton North Strategic Industrial Area, west of Onslow, Western Australia. It is reported to be the first LNG plant development in Australia that is planned to attract large volumes of third-party gas supplies.

LNG developments feeding the plant are the offshore gas fields Julimar, Brunello, Wheatstone and Iago.  Two BBC vessels supported project works in the Julimar and the Wheatstone fields by feeding so called “displacement initiator frames”.  The frames were loaded in Sattahip, Thailand and Batam, Indonesia and discharged offshore onto the OSV Skandi Hercules.

The BBC Kibo is one of eight a 9,300 dwt vessels capable of lifting up to 700mt. The BBC Europe is also one of eight 7,500 dwt vessels capable of lifting up to 500mt.
