BBC helps Australia Pacific LNG project, Gladstone

BBC vessel ships pressure tanks for Coal Seam Gas (CSG) facility in South East Queensland

April 2014 – The Australia Pacific LNG Project is a coal seam gas (CSG) to liquefied natural gas (LNG) project underway delivering a cleaner, greener sustainable energy source to further supply gas-fired power stations, major industrial customers and residents throughout Queensland, Australia.

The project will be a source of major investment through to 2020. About 10,000 jobs will be created throughout the life of the project, increasing local skills and boosting regional economies. With this Queensland plans to have a new, long-term gas processing and export industry that benefits regional, state and national levels.

BBC Chartering loaded multiple pressure tanks and platform components in Masan, Korea destined for the new LNG facility on Curtis Island off the coast of Gladstone. The assigned BBC California type vessels features 360mt combined lifting capacity and a cargo intake of 12,780 dwt. BBC Chartering currently operates nine vessels of this type.
