BBC Chartering introduces Trans-Pacific Service
New monthly liner service connects Asia with Unites States
August 1, 2011 - Leading German heavy lift shipping company BBC Chartering announces the commencement of a new monthly liner service that connects Asia with North America.
With the new service, BBC Chartering aims to further strengthen its position in the liner segment of the global project cargo, break‐bulk and heavy lift market. Svend Andersen, Managing Director of BBC Chartering, comments on this new step: “Over the years we have introduced many dedicated liner services also allowing smaller project parcels to be shipped around the world. Such reliable and regular services respond to the demands of our global clients in this segment.”
With the introduction of the Trans-Pacific service the company calls loading ports in Shanghai, Masan, Kobe, and Yokohama and discharges in Long Beach (West Coast), Charleston and Houston.

Papua New Guinea Express Line
BBC Chartering and Teras Cargo Transport are pleased to announce our new liner service, trading between South East Asia and Papua New Guinea/Oceanica. With growing demand for project and break bulk service into Papua New Guinea, we are delighted to bring the Teras BBC service to the market, ensuring quality tonnage and regular sailings between our hub in Thailand and Singapore into Papua New Guinea and vice versa.
New Far East Liner Setup
To meet the steadily growing demand of project cargo between Asia and South-America, we have decided to expand our successful Liner program. Beginning 02nd of May , we will increase the frequency on the established Americana and Andino Lines from the Far East with Shanghai, Masan and Kobe being base ports on each sailing. There will be a regular sailing every 21 days for the Americana Line and every 28 days for the Andino Line. The vessels will range from 7.000 to 20.000 DWAT with lifting capacity up to 700t, to meet all of our clients' needs. These additional services between Asia and South America are an excellent complement to our current lines between Europe and the US Gulf and South America. By offering regular sailings on the liner service combined with the flexibility of our tramp fleet of more than 140 Vessels, we can further improve our services to meet the special needs of our customers.
Delivery of first "new wave" vessel, BBC Everest
BBC Everest, the first “new wave” vessel out of a series of eight, with a deadweight of 9,282 and each with a lifting capacity up to 700 mtons was delivered to BBC in Xingang on March 12th, 2011.
On her maiden voyage, she is transporting some steel and transformer under deck, as well as 16 yachts on deck from China via South Korea, Taiwan, Vietnam and Maldives to the Mediterranean.
Next sistervessel to be delivered is the BBC Fuji, to be followed by BBC Kibo, BBC Mont Blanc, BBC Olympus, BBC Rushmore, BBC Vesuvius and BBC Vinson till 2012.
BBC Chartering Opens Office in Liverpool, UK
Strengthening relationships with UK clients and increasing level of service for heavy lift transports on British Isles
On July 1st, 2011, leading German heavy lift shipping company BBC Chartering has opened a representative Office in Liverpool (UK). With the new branch, BBC Chartering aims to further strengthen its position in the British project cargo, break-bulk and heavy lift market. Mr. Jonathan Monks, having many years of experience in project shipping, has been appointed Chartering and Sales Manager of the Liverpool branch office.
Svend Andersen, Managing Director of BBC Chartering, expresses his confidence in this new venture: “We’ve been doing business in the British Isles since our beginning back in 1997. The new local presence enables us to strengthen our relationships with our clients and allows us to respond more quickly to their needs.
